CD's

To bring you up to date, a CD is a small round disk that looks like a mini LP record. A CDROM plays the CD's (I'm sure by now you knew that!). The speed of the CDROM determines how fast it can read a CD. So the faster the CDROM, the faster it can read info on the CD. But if you notice on the box it says "Max speed", this means it runs at veritable speeds.  You can purchase CDROMs that run at constant speeds, which depending on what you are doing, can be better for you!

As for the sound quality you get from a CDROM, it depends on how good your CDROM, Sound Card and Speakers work together!
